What do you do when you are struggling with creativity? How do you keep yourself fresh, how do you keep enjoying what you put down on paper?

I’ve done it for so long now that I never really struggle. The key to my strategy is that I revise like crazy. I flesh out a million ideas a day, and then slowly go back and change them to make them perfect from a construction standpoint. If I do ever hit a wall, which does happen, like last winter when my mother got very ill, I just walk away from it. I don’t worry about it leaving me, it’s a fabric of my being, as douchebaggery as that sounds. A life without language is silent, and when life is silent you begin to hear the world falling to pieces.
